Here at Aramex New Zealand, we have a tradition of giving, building strong relationships in our communities and a genuine culture of lending a hand to those in need.
Red Nose Day for Cure Kids
Cure Kids are New Zealand’s leading child health expert research charity, with a mission to improve the health of children through research and its outcomes. With the amazing support of New Zealand, Cure Kids have funded more than $55 million worth of research since its inception over 50 years ago.
Some of the health research projects Cure Kids have funded, or are currently funding include inherited heart conditions, childhood cancers, cystic fibrosis, sudden unexpected infancy death, stillborn, mental health and many others.
In 2016, Aramex aligned with Cure Kids as their courier partner for Red Nose day, collecting the merchandise from their distribution centre based in Auckland and distributing to various Cure Kids retail outlets and community partners around the country.
To help promote Red Nose Day, several fundraising efforts commence throughout the month of July. As a business, Aramex gets involved by wearing Red Noses and organising their own fundraising competitions. In 2021 we have been delighted to have Cure Kids Ambassador Mela and her sister Boe design our A3 & A4 satchels. You can find out more information on our satchel campaign here.
ABOUT RED NOSE DAY 2021
Red Nose Day is Cure Kids biggest annual appeal – it’s a month-long challenge to raise over $1 million to help fund child health research in New Zealand.
When is Red Nose Day?
Friday 30th July 2021
Nationally, we support other key charities/initiatives every year.
Daffodil Day
Daffodil Day is the largest national fundraising day for cancer support services, research, patient and family support in New Zealand. With one in three New Zealanders affected by cancer, this organisation resonates for many people nationwide and throughout the network.
Each year several Aramex New Zealand Regional Franchisees support the Cancer Society’s annual appeal by providing their services to deliver thousands of bunches of daffodils to local businesses. Completing this mammoth task generally involves the majority of the franchises’ staff and Courier Franchisees assisting with the sorting and delivery of the daffodils.
This support enables the Cancer Society to reduce fundraising costs and direct more funds to core patient services in the local community.
Purple Heart Fun Day
Over the past five years, Aramex New Zealand has sponsored a fun day for families living with cancer. Each year Camp Quality provides annual summer camps at no cost to help children and their families overcome the challenges of living with cancer. The Purple Heart Fun Day provides a day for the whole family to enjoy and to get to know the volunteer camp caregivers.
It is the support of Aramex New Zealand that enables these children, their parents and the volunteer camp caregivers to enjoy a day of great fun and excitement. Being part of delivering joy to these kids and their families is something we are very proud to be a part of.
Regionally, we support other key charities/initiatives every year.
We have a proud history of community involvement and supporting local charitable and community-based organisations across the country. Each of the Regional Franchisees is also actively involved in their local communities. Here are just a few charity or community-based organisations that our local teams have been involved with:
Relay for Life
The Uplift Project
Giving Trees
Little Sprouts
Whangarei Native Bird Recovery Centre
Shoot for the Moon
Why we do it?
We partner with community organisations that have a similar ethos. They’re organisations that are generally smaller and run by volunteers whose efforts are wholly benefited by those in need. These are usually organisations for which transport costs would be prohibitive and may halt their efforts or lack of expertise may result in taking too much of their time to coordinate.
We are a family-focused business, providing a service that connects communities - communities that we are very much a part of and has a responsibility to support. Our community involvement is basically an extension of what Aramex franchisees do daily and by providing worthy causes this service for free, it makes them feel good.
